Adserve Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Adserve provides advertising delivery and related services.

We are committed to protecting user privacy and ensuring that all data processing is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Adserve operates within the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF).

2. Role and Scope

Adserve acts as an independent data controller in relation to the services we provide.

This Privacy Policy describes how Adserve processes data when delivering advertisements on behalf of publishers and advertisers.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Adserve processes personal data based on user consent where required.

We rely on consent signals collected through the publisher’s Consent Management Platform (CMP), in accordance with the TCF framework.

Where consent is not available, Adserve operates in a strictly non-personalized, contextual mode that does not rely on cookies or user identifiers.

4. Processing with User Consent

When user consent has been obtained, Adserve may:

  • Deliver and optimize advertising
  • Select ads based on contextual and permitted signals
  • Measure advertising performance
  • Generate reports for advertisers and publishers

All such processing is performed in accordance with the purposes and legal bases defined within the TCF framework.

5. Processing without User Consent (Contextual Mode)

When user consent has not been provided, Adserve:

  • Does not use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies
  • Does not use identifiers to recognize users or devices
  • Does not perform profiling or personalized advertising

In this mode, Adserve may still:

  • Deliver contextual (non-personalized) advertising based on the content of the page
  • Measure impressions, clicks, and engagement strictly in aggregated form

6. Data We Do Not Use

Adserve does not:

  • Track users across websites
  • Build user profiles
  • Perform retargeting
  • Use personal data for advertising without a valid legal basis

7. Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF)

Adserve participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework.

  • Adserve Vendor ID: 613
  • We only process data where:
    • We have been disclosed to the user by the CMP, and
    • The required user consent has been obtained

8. Logging and Security

Adserve maintains server logs for operational and security purposes.

These logs may include technical information such as IP addresses and device information. We apply the following safeguards:

  • Data minimization where possible
  • Limited retention periods
  • No use of log data for advertising or profiling purposes

Certain processing necessary for security, fraud prevention and system integrity may be carried out based on legitimate interests.

9. Data Retention

Adserve retains data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

Aggregated reporting data may be retained longer, as it does not identify individual users.

10. Data Sharing

Adserve does not sell personal data.

Data may be shared with:

  • Publishers and advertisers (in aggregated or consent-based form)
  • Service providers acting on our behalf

All sharing is done in compliance with applicable laws.

11. User Rights

Users have the right to:

  • Access their personal data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time via the publisher’s CMP

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be published on this page.
